What was this film about? Why did I want to see it? I don't remember now. It was so long ago. Wait, let me think. They're all kind of blurring together already.Okay, there's this impotent bald guy, see? He's living in the house his parents left him when they died, and he has no idea how to meat people. He's a butcher. That's not really important. Driving home one night, he comes across a pregnant woman being beaten up in the street and helps her up. His kindness goes wantonly overboard by inviting her into his house and giving her a bath and some food. The next day, he goes to work, leaving her alone in the house. While he's gone, she tidies the house and buys some groceries for dinner.
Fast forward.
Aha! They have a baby now, and look! Here comes the biological father, freshly released from jail. Well isn't this a lovely scene. So the bald guy rather grudgingly lets the guy into the house- some interesting emotional-relationship stuff happens, another kid happens, and everyone dies. Oh well.
Looks like the bald guy got what he wanted- a family. Good for him. As I write this, I'm wondering why I should really care. It was all kinda dull and plodding.
Oh- I remember what I was going to mention... if you believe "meat is murder", you'd best stay out of the theatre for the opening credits. They feature very very graphic depictions of animals being slaughtered and chopped into little tiny pieces. Yum.
