Jo said "too wacky for me", but I loved this one. I haven't laughed this hard since "Something About Mary" - not that the subject matter is anywhere near the same (although there is a truly amazing scene with a dog and a barbeque). From the excellent opening credits onward, the pace of this movie never lets up. There are some touching scenes in this story about a family Christmas event, but mostly it's one gag followed by another. Some of them have been seen before (put drugs into a food item, unbenownst to the person eating it), but some are very unique and funny (the aforementioned dog segment).
I don't recall who did the soundtrack, but if I were Danny Elfman, I'd sue for rights. I half-expected a Tim Burton cameo.
The ending is a typically Australian "everyone's happy" sort of one, but that's okay really since by the time it happened, I hurt too much from laughing to care, really.
