One of the only perks of my job here (especially for an information junkie like me) is being able to read lots and lots of wire service news. In other words, this is stuff that is not written by anyone within the building, and frequently doesn't even have a writer attached to it.
One of those wire service stories I ran had to do with a popular British sport that the rest of the world giggles about behind their backs. Yes, I'm talking about cricket. In the course of layout out a page, one must read all the articles very very carefully to catch any errors. Each time I read this paragraph from a Reuters article it just got funnier and funnier:
Wicket keeper Jack Russel got a duck as he became the first test victim of Nixon McLaren, who was lively if a little wild at times.
