Just a dotthe tall blond guy goes to japan

Getting busy!

Grand Central

Well, I am actually here for a reason- to make money at a real job, and priorities being what priorities are, I don't think I'll have that much extra time to explore and write anymore. We're ramping up in preparation for the Olympics, and there are lots more staff running around.

I did have a chance to check out the Warner Store in Ginza though... Ginza is a massive tourist-oriented shopping area of Tokyo. This is where all the fancy stores are and where all the expensive shopping is. I'd read in our newspaper that the Japanese super-group "SMAP" were there to open the store a few days ago, so I had to go find it. Much to my surprise, I did find it.

Warner Warner, and everything's in English!

Much to my surprise, I didn't buy anything. It's a very pretty store though. The centrepiece is a huge Bugs Bunny statue surrounded by lots of silver stairs.

This evening, I went out with some co-workers to a place down the street from our hotel, called "Giraffe". How bizarre! Except for the menus, everything could have been in any place in Vancouver. The food was all there and done really well- it was the only place I'd seen that had managed to get someone else's culture done completely correctly. They even had nachos!
